New laser for LVPEI
L V Prasad Eye Institute has acquired the PASCAL® (Pattern Scan Laser) photocoagulator — an advanced precision scanning laser system to treat retinal diseases using a single spot or a predetermined pattern array. The PASCAL technology platform employs short 532 nm laser pulses, delivered in a rapid predetermined sequence offering improved precision, safety, patient comfort, and reduced treatment time compared with single-spot photocoagulation.
The new laser will reduce the number of sessions required for treatment, which is a boon for patients coming from far. It is also more comfortable for both the patient and the doctor as compared to the earlier laser.
